According to my beliefs, what makes a good friend is, first, loyalty. For being called a friend, a person has to be loyal to you and respect everything that you tell him or her by keeping the secrets you tell to that person. Another important value that makes good friends is reliability. You have to be sure that the person you¡re calling a friend will not let you down or abandon you because of some external factor (another friends, family, a relationship, etc.) And last but not least, honesty. A person who is a lier cannot be called a good friend, because you will never be sure whether the things he or she tells you are real or not, or what would that person tell the others about you.
