Answer:

3.76

Explanation:

In order to find the least for x if it asks you,

x-6=-2.24

+6 +6

x= 3.76 (least)

and

x= 8.24 (greatest)

Answer:

8.24

Explanation:

We have:

(x - 6)^2 - 5 = 0

First, lets sum 5 in both sides:

(x - 6)^2 - 5 + 5 = 0 + 5

(x - 6)^2 = 5

Now we need to get rid of the ^2. For this porpoise we do the inverse operation to ^2 which is square root, or ^(1/2), in both sides:

[(x - 6)^2]^(1/2) = 5^(1/2)

Here we know that, for any a, b and c: [(a^b)^c] = a^(b*c) and sqrt of 5 is aproz 2.24. So:

(x - 6)^[2*(1/2)] = 5^(1/2)

(x - 6)^[1] = 2.24

x-6 = 2.24

Then, summing 6 in both sides:

x-6 + 6 = 2.24 +6

x = 8.24

And this is the solution
