c=27/40 = 0.675
Explanation:
the statement give us the expression:
1/8 +c= 4/5
we subtract the term "1/8" both sides:
we have:
1/8 -1/8+c= 4/5-1/8
c=4/5-1/8
c=(4*8)-(5*1)/(5*8)
c=(32-5)/(40)
c =27/40 = 0.675
