The key points of the Enlightenment included the use of logic and reason to determine truth in all areas and the ability of individuals to learn independently. The Enlightenment upheld ideals such as equality, which directly influenced the American, French, and Haitian Revolution, as evidenced in the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen.

The American Revolution inspired both the French Revolution and the Haitian Revolution through ideas expressed in the Declaration and Constitution. Such ideas included equality, freedom of speech and press, and freedom from tyranny.

The French Revolution upheld many ideas of the Enlightenment, especially in the beginning. Some of these ideas included the idea of equality, fair trials, and freedom from unjust punishments. Later in the Revolution, the Reign of Terror undermined the ideas of the Enlightenment, going against religious toleration, freedom of speech, and fair trials as well.

Individual examples for each revolution will vary. Similarities between the French and American Revolution: Overthrowing unjust monarchies. Similarities between the American and Haitian Revolutions: Colonies in the New World; strongly motivated by social equality. Similarities between the French and Haitian Revolutions: Inspired in part by the American Revolution. Similarities between all three revolutions: Inspired by the Enlightenment, involved violence.

Answer:

The French who had direct contact with the Americans were able to successfully implement Enlightenment ideas into a new political system. The National Assembly in France even used the American Declaration of Independence as a model when drafting the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen in 1789.
