On the field trip, Abbey, Bethany, Christine, and Darcy bought a total of 4 hot dogs and 3 sodas, which cost the girls $17.00. Edward bought 2 hot dogs and 1 soda from the same lunch stand and it cost him $7.80 before tax. How much would one hotdog and one soda cost before tax?

Answer:

6.30$

Explanation:

If you add 7.80$ and 7.80$ that come to 4 hot dogs,

The rest of the money is how much one soda cost ( 2.40$ ),

Dividing that 7.80$ by 2, To only have one hot dog, would put you at

3.90$ fro one hot dog, then all you have to do is add them together, to get the total of 6.30

7.80 | 17.00 | 7.80/2 | 2.40

+ 7.80 | - 15.60 | 3.90 | + 3.90

15.60 | 2.40 | | 6.30
