Answer:

Bo's Original paycheck=$3,000

Explanation:

Assume Bo's whole paycheck prior to spending (Original pay check)=x

Expenditure;

a).Bills (1/2) of paycheck=(1/2)x=0.5x

Remainder=x-0.5x=0.5x

b). Savings=(1/5) of the remainder=1/5×0.5x=0.1x

c). Remainder= Paycheck-(Bills+Savings)

Remainder=x-(0.5x+0.1x)=0.4x

College account=0.4x

College account for each child=(0.4x)/3

He deposited $400 in each childs account

Substituting;

400=(0.4x/3)

x=(400×3)/0.4=3000

Bo's original paycheck=$3,000
