please help me. the boat traveled up the river at 15 miles an hour to reach their campsite 90 miles up the river, the Rogers traveled twice as long in the afternoon as they did in the morning. how long did they travel in the morning? thank you​

If they traveled 15 miles/hour, then after 4 hours they would have traveled 60 miles, because 60/4 is equal to 15/1. This is how long it took in the afternoon.

Let M=Morning Hours, and A=Afternoon Hours. If the afternoon took twice as long as the morning, then A = 2M. We already know the afternoon trip took 6 hours, so 4 = 2M.

Divide each side by 2, and M = 2.

Or just split the afternoon hours in half.
