Then multiply the numberator and denominator by the number that makes the denominator common. For instance, for 5/10 we would use 6. 10 TIMES 6 IS 60, AND 5 TIMES 6 IS 30. Now its 30/60

We do the same for fraction 2:

12 TIMES 5 IS 60, AND 3 TIMES 5 IS 15. Now its 15/60
