Resolution is important to a short story because short stories have morals behind them. Such as: looks can be deceiving, don’t be greedy, don’t make irrational things seem rational. The way the story ends makes all the difference in a story, for example, in the Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, if the Mad Man didn’t admit his deed, guilt would’ve never been the moral!
