John works as a tutor for 8 an hour and as a waitress for 13 an hour. This month, she worked a combined total of 101 hours at her two jobs. Let be the number of hours Ivanna worked as a tutor this month. Write an expression for the combined total dollar amount she earned this month?

FIRST OF ALL you have to use the number of hours Ivanna worked as a tutor.

then with that info you can use the following equation:

A. #hoursworkedastutor + #hoursworkedasawaitress = 101 (this is the number of hours worked in the month)

now you can find the hours she worked as a waitress

#hoursworkedasawaitress= 101-#hoursworkedastutor

B. Now you can use the following equation to find the amount of dollars she earned total in the month:

8(#hoursworkedastutor) + 13(#hoursworkedasawaitress)= TOTAL DOLLAR AMOUNT
