The answer would be 2in because a=h•w so then 5•2 =10 which is the area

Answer:

The area of a triangle is 10 square inches. Then the base of the triangle is 4 inches.

Solution:

The area of a triangle is given as 10 sq inches.

And the height of the triangle is given as 5 inches.

Let us denote base as ‘b’ for the convenience of calculation.

The triangle has 3 sides, but we use the base and the height of the triangle to find its area.

The formula to find the area of a triangle is:

We already know the area of the triangle and its height, but we need to find the base.

To do so we can substitute the values of area and height in eq1 and solve it to find the value of base.

So after substitution eq1 becomes:

10=(1)/(2) * b * 5

10×2÷5=b

20÷5=b

b = 4

Therefore the value of base is 4 inches.
