April made 40 cookies for the upcoming bake sale. She made 3/5 of the cookies chocolate chip and 1/4 of them are peanut butter cookies. How many chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies are there ALL TOGETHER?

Would it be 24 chocolate chip and 4 peanut butter for a total of 28 cookies?

It wouldn’t be 28 because 3/5 of 40 is 24 and 1/4 is 10. 24 + 10 = 34 Cookies

3/5 of 40 is 24, and 1/4 of the total 40 is 10. 24 + 10 = 34, therefore there are 34 all together
