Answer:

The price of each cup of coffee with milk=$0.51 or 51¢

Explanation:

The ratio of the sale volume of black coffee to sugared coffee to coffee with milk is 3:7:5.

Since the total volume of coffee sales is 300 cups

The volume of sales per coffee type can be expressed as follows;

1. Black coffee=(3/(3+7+5))×300=(3/15)×300=60 sales

2. Sugared coffee=(7/(3+7+5))×300=(7/15)×300=140 sales

3. Coffee with milk=(5/(3+7+5))×300=(5/15)×300=100 sales

Consider Equation 1 below:

Earnings from total sales=(Cost of each cup of black coffee×It's volume of sales)+(Cost of each cup of sugared coffee×It's volume of sales)+(Cost of each cup of coffee with milk×It's volume of sales), where;

Earnings from the total sales=$165

Since 1 dollar=100 cents, 50 cents=50/100=$0.5

Cost of each cup of black coffee=$0.5, Volume of sales of black coffee=60 sales

Since 1 dollar=100 cents, 60 cents=60/100=$0.6

Cost of each cup of sugared coffee=$0.6, Volume of sales of black coffee=140 sales

Cost of each cup of milk coffee=$x, Volume of sales of black coffee=100 sales

Substituting values in equation 1

165=(0.5×60)+(0.6×140)+(x×100)

165=30+84+100x

165=114+100x

100x=165-114

100x=51

x=0.51

The price of each cup of milk coffee=x=$0.51 or 51 cents
