The width of a rectangle is 19 meters more than the length. The perimeter is 242 meters. Find the length and width.

Hence, L+19 =W ......(1)

So, 2(L+W) =242, ⇒L+W =121 ..... (2)

Now, solving equations (1) and (2) by substitution method, we get,

L+(L+19) =121, ⇒2L =102, ⇒ L =51 meters.
