From the given graph it is clear that the line passes through the points (0,1) and (1,-1). So, rate of change is


m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)


m=(-1-1)/(1-0)


m=(-2)/(1)


m=-2

Therefore, the rate of change of the given linear function is -2. Hence, the correct option is A.
