How to reduce fraction

2 Answers

Answer:

1. Break down both the numerator (top number) and denominator (bottom number) into their prime factors. For example, suppose you want to reduce the fraction 12/30.

2. Cross out any common factors.

3. Multiply the remaining numbers to get the reduced numerator and denominator.

Alright, for example 3/6. What goes into 3? Nothing (besides 3)! What goes into 6? 2 does because 2x3 is 6. 1x3 is 3 so your multiplying 3 by itself, and you get 1/2. My response is a bit confusing but i hope you understand it.
