Explanation:

Hypotenuse (h) = 6.25

Perpendicular (p) = 5

base (b) = ?

By using Pythagoras theorem we get

b = √ ( h² - p²)

= √( 6.25)² - 5²

= √ 14.0625

= √(3.75)²

= 3.75
