Given y = f(x) then f(x + a) is a horizontal translation of a units

• If a > 0 then shift to the left of a units

• If a < 0 then shift to the right of a units

Here shift to the right of 1 unit, thus

y = f(x - 1)

Under a reflection in the x- axis

a point (x, y ) → (x, - y )

Note the y- coordinates are the negative of each other, thus

- y = f(x)

Now
(y)/(-1) = - y, hence

The equation for the red graph is
