If the difference of two numbers is negative (meaning that A – B < 0) then which number is larger, A or B? Explain.

Explanation:

From an intuitive point of view, you may think that, if your subtraction turn to be negative, then you have subtracted "too much". To be more precise, you simply have to manipulate the inequality to get


A-B<0 \iff A<B

by adding B to both sides. So, as you can see, we have that A is less than B, or equivalently, B is larger than A.
