F(x) = x2 + 4x − 6

f(x) can be written in the form (x + m)2 + n.
Find the value of m and the value of n.

Since


x^2+4x+4=(x+2)^2

Is a perfect square, we can think of the "-6" at the end as a "+4-10" and we have


x^2+4x-6 = x^2+4x+4-10 = (x+2)^2-10

Which is the required form
