"Leo and Stan start to ride their bikes at the same time from the same point on a

circular track. If it takes Leo 36 seconds to complete on revolution around the

track and it takes Stan 40 seconds to make one revolution around the track, how

many minutes will it take for them to meet again at the starting point?

Given

Leo = 36 sec / rev

Stan = 40 sec/rev

Required

Determine the time (in minutes) they'll meet again

We start by getting the multiples of 36 and 40 uptil we get a common multiple.

Leo: 36 = 36, 72, 108, 144, 180, 216, 252, 288, 324, 360, .....

Stan: 40 = 40, 80, 120, 160, 200, 240, 280, 320, 360....

From above, the common multiple is:

Common Multiple = 360

This means that they'll meet at 360 seconds

Convert to minutes

360 sec = 360/60 mins

360 Seca = 6 mins

Hence,it will take them 6 minutes to meet again at the starting point
