Explanation:

multiply 6x^2 by x^2 once and -1 once, then multiply 4 by x^2 once and -1 once

then you will get:

6x^4 -6x^2 +4x^2 -4

and then you will combine like terms

and you will get 6x^4 -2x^2 -4
