Explanation:

Line: y = ax + b

a = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) = (( - 10) - (25))/(9 - 14) = ( - 10 - 25)/( - 5) = ( - 35)/( - 5) = 7

Take randomly a point of those given (as long as it belongs to the line) and substitute its coordinates to the line.

line : y = 7x + b

(-10) = 7 * 9 + b

b = -10 -63 = -73

b= -73

So finally the line is :

y = 7x -73

Answer:

y = 7x - 73

Explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

Calculate m using the slope formula

m = (y₂ - y₁ ) / (x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (14, 25) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (9, - 10)

m =
(-10-25)/(9-14) =
(-35)/(-5) = 7, thus

y = 7x + c ← is the partial equation

To find c substitute either of the 2 points into the partial equation

Using (14, 25), then

25 = 98 + c ⇒ c = 25 - 98 = - 73

y = 7x - 73 ← equation of line
