When you say ‘ in the morning ‘ in Spanish why is it ‘ por la mañana ‘ and not en la/el mañana’ ... I’m new to Spanish and I am confused haha x

Answer:

Por and para are used to identify different sentences. Por identifies time. "en" can be "on" and is not necessarily "in" you would always say por La mañana because mañana ends with an a making mañana feminine.

in reality, por la mañana means for the morning. No translations are exact due to how conjunctions work in Spanish speaking cultures versus English speakers.
