They are basically asking which one of these expansion would give you the right answer.

So first you would have to solve the expression, by using foil.


(4x+1)(2x^2-2)

(4x+1)(2x^2-2)

F- first

4x · 2x^2

O- outer

+4x · (-2)

I- inner

+1 · 2x^2

L- last

Put all of the expressions together.


4x *2x^2+4x * (-2)+1 *2x^2+ 1 * (-2)

the answer would be A
