Explanation:

First lets calculate the slope of the line passing through the points (-3,4) and (4,-1). This slope will be the same to the line that passes through (-1,8) since they are parallel. Finally we will determine the equation of the line which passes through that point.

m= (-1-4)/(4-(-3)) = -5/7

y-8/(x-(-1)) = -5/7

y-8 = (-5/7)*x -5/7

y= -5/7 *x - 5/7 + 8

y= -5/7 *x -5/7 + 8 = -5/7 *x + ((56 -5)7) = -5/7 * x + 51/7
