Plug in each into x

x = -2

f(-2) = 3(-2) + 5

==> multiply 3 and -2

f(-2) = -6 + 5

==> add -6 and 5

f(-2) = -1

f(-1) = 3(-1) + 5

f(-1) = -3 + 5

f(-1) = 2

f(0) = 3(0) + 5

f(0) = 0 + 5

f(0) = 5

f(1) = 3(1) + 5

f(1) = 3 + 5

f(1) = 8

f(2) = 3(2) + 5
