We won't be using the given point (-6,1), since it won't really help us to get our answer.

y-(2)/(3) x=3

Add 2/3x to both sides of the equation.

y-(2)/(3) x+(2)/(3) x=3+(2)/(3) x

The 2/3x on the left side will cancel each other out.

y=(2)/(3) x+3

This equation is in the form y=mx+b, which is slope intercept form.

Let me know if you need any clarifications, thanks!
