Answer:

length = 14cm ; width = 10 cm

Explanation:

let the width be ' x '.

let the length be ' 4 + x '

perimeter = 48 cm

perimeter of a rectangle = 2 ( l + b)

2 ( l + b ) = 48

2 ( 4 + x + x ) = 48

2 ( 4 + 2x ) = 48

(2*4) + (2*2x) = 48

8 + 4x = 48

4x = 48 - 8 = 40

x = 40/4 = 10

width will be 10 cm and length will be 14 cm
