Answer:

The Dawes act was came into force on the 8th of February in the year 1887 and it was proposed by the congress and approved by the president of the United states to divide and allot land to the American Indians.

Each piece of land allotted was to be owned and regulated by individual instead of the whole tribe owning the land was removed by this act. These people owning the land were also promised future citizenship.
