If I’m not mistaken then the answer would be 6 because if it burns 2 gallons of gas per hour multiply that by 3 and it becomes 6

ANSWER:

Integer 6 represents the change in the number of gallons of gas in your tank after driving 3 hours

Solution:

Given, Let's assume that your car burns 2 gallons of gas every hour.

We need to find the integer that represents the change in the number of gallons of gas in your tank after driving 3 hours.

Let, the initial amount of gas in our car be x gallons.

Then, for every one hour, car consumes 2 gallons.

So, we need to subtract 2 from initial gas, i.e. x

gas after one hour = x – 2

Now, we have to find after 3 hours.

So, gas after three hours = x – 3 x (gas consumed in one hour)

= x – (3)(2 ) = x – 6

Gas in car after 3 hours = x – 6

Change in gas = initial gas – final gas

= x – (x – 6) = x – x + 6 = 6

Hence, the integer representing the change in gas is 6.
