Explanation:

Trigonometry gives us the formula h²=a²+b², were a and b are the triangle's legs. We are told that one leg is three times 3x the other leg x.

h²=(3x)²+x²

100=9x²+x²

100=10x²

100/10=x²

x²=10

x=√10

So b=√10 and a=3√10.
