It is going to be rainy this weekend = near future
Il va pleuvoir ce week-end. ==> futur proche
EXPLANATION
the way to conjugate futur proche is very close to "near future"
English ==> be (present) going to + infinitive
French ==> aller (present) + infinitif
ALLER present
je vais
tu vas
il/elle/on va
nous allons
vous allez
ils vont
Examples
I'm going to take the school bus= je vais prendre le bus scolaire.
You are going to pack your luggage this evening = Vous allez faire vos valises ce soir
