Because when you distribute -2 into (3x+6) you get -6x - 12 and then when you do the same thing to 4 you get 4x + 28

So then you subtract 4x to both sides and get -10x and then you add 12 to both sides and you get 40

After you divide -10 to both sides and you get x < (with the line under) -4
