Explanation:

Absolute value is the value of a number, disregarding its sign. Absolute value will always be written as positive.

Examples:

The absolute value of 5 is 5.

The absolute value of -9836 is 9836. Not -9836, because absolute value will always be positive.

The absolute value of -2 is 2.

The absolute value of 87 is 87.

And, thus, the absolute value of -1.75 is 1.75, and so is the absolute value of 1.75. -1.75 will be in between -2 and -1.5. 1.75 will be in between 1.5 and 2.
