Answer:

x = 2/5 or 0.4

Explanation:

3x - 6 = 4(2 - 3x) - 8x

distribute

3x - 6 = 4*2 - 4*3x - 8

3x - 6 = 8 - 12x - 8

combine like terms

3x - 6 = -12x

add 12x to both sides of the equation

3x - 6 + 12x = -12x + 12x

3x - 6 + 12x = 0

15x - 6 = 0

add 6 to both sides of the equation

15x - 6 + 6 = 0 + 6

15x = 6

divide both sides of the equation by 15

15x/15 = 6/15

x = 6/15

x = 2/5

x = 0.4
