a slope of -2 means that for every x unit in the positive x direction (right) two y units are moved in the negative Y direction (downward)

so if we subtract (go to the left) 1x that means we would also have to add (go up) 2y, which would leave us at the point (0,7)

now, an equation for a line is written as Y = MX + B

M = slope

B = y intercept

our slope, as we said before, is -2, and we found the Y intercept, 7, so now we can construct our equation

y = -2x + 7
