Let the number of hours Paul needs to work = h.

You need to multiply Paul's hourly rate by the number of hours (h) to either be equal to or greater than what Alan makes:

The equation would be:

8.25h ≥ 363

To Solve divide both sides by 8.25

h ≥ 363 / 8.25

h ≥ 44

Paul needs to work at least 44 hours
