Let's examine Khias post.

I found this speech challenging and overwhelming at
first. I think my first mistake was listening to the speech all
the way through without pausing once. The second time,
remembered the strategy of pausing frequently to
summarize and "translate" Johnson's words into language
that makes more sense to me.
1. Write a short summary that includes the major claims and
reasons of Johnson's argument.
2. Evaluate the strength of those reasons and evidence.
3. Was any irrelevant evidence used by Johnson? If so, what
was the impact on you as the listener?
4. Read your classmates' posts. Compare and contrast their
views with your own.
5. What strategies did you use as you listened to the speech?
Explain with specific examples.
Use the discussion rubric to understand how you will be graded.

So I am assuming the first question has to do with the given post....?

Anyways, here is what I got, A short summary of the given post is the following: Khias, or whomever wrote it, found that listening to the speech without stopping it to examine it carefully and accurately, caused them to feel overwhelmed. They then listened to it again, this time stopping it and using the strategy of pausing to summarize it, and they then understood it more.

2. Evaluate the strength of those reasons and evidence: This is a good strategy, especially since they gave a claim, which was that they failed to understand a certain thing, and while they tried new things, they have come to understand it more. This is a strong strategy.

3. Was any irrelevant evidence used by Johnson? If so, what was the impact on you as the listener? I don't think so, she had a problem, and found a solution to it.

I cannot answer 4 and 5 because I think that requires you yourself, since I am not a part of your class, and I don't know your classmates. I hope this helps ~♡
