Then the product of the measures of the parts of one chord is equal to the product of the measures of the parts of the other chord, that is

6(2p - 3) = 4 × 4.5 ← distribute left side

12p - 18 = 18 ( add 18 to both sides )

12p = 36 ( divide both sides by 12 )

p = 3
