ANSWER:

The Jurassic zoo charges $12 for each adult admission. hence 25 adults and 51 children visited the zoo.

SOLUTION:

Given, the Jurassic zoo charges $12 for each adult admission and two dollars for each child.

The total bill for the 76 people for the school trip was $402

We need to find how many adults and how many children went to the zoo.

Let the number adults visited zoo be x

And the number of children visited the zoo be y

Then, x + y = 76 --- (1)

For 76 people, the total bill was 402. Hence we get,

12x + 2y = 402 ---- (2)

Now multiply eqn (1) with -2

-2x -2y = -152 ---- (3)

Now, add equation 2 and 3

10x + 0 = 250

x = 25

Now substitute x value in (1)

25 + y = 76

y = 76 – 25

y = 51

Hence, 25 adults and 51 children visited the zoo.
