Carlos is building a screen door.The width of the screen is 3 feet.

SOLUTION:

Given, Carlos is building a screen door. The height of the door is 1 foot more than twice its width.

And height of the screen door is 7 feet high.

Let the width of the screen door be x feet wide.

Now, according to given information,

Height is 1 foot more than the 2 times of width. Hence we can form a equation as,

7 = 1 + 2x

2x = 7 – 1

2x = 6

x =
(6)/(2) = 3

Hence, the width of the screen is 3 feet.
