Answer:

Matter:

Anything which occupy area ,have mass and can exist in the phases of substances like gas ,liquid and solid phase.

Matters are of two types:

a) Pure substances:

The property of substances are same through out the volume ans it is invariant with place.It have same chemical composition through out.

These are further divided in two parts :

1. Element :

Element can not be separate in to other element by chemical process.These are the fundamental for every element.

2. Compound:

Compound can be separate by chemical process.

Ex : Oxygen element(O), Aluminium element (Al)

b) Mixture :

1)Homogeneous mixture:

It have same composition through out.It is also known as solution.

Ex: Salt water solution,milk water solution

2)Heterogeneous :

It do not have same composition through out

Ex: Mud -water solution,Soup of vegetables.
