Consider your favorite radio station. AM radio has a frequency between 535 kilohertz and 1605 kilohertz, and FM radio has a frequency between 88 megahertz and 108 megahertz. Calculate the wavelength and the energy of the electromagnetic waves from your favorite radio station.

Answer

The wavelength for 550 kHz signal is

\lambda = (3.00 * 10^8)/(550* 10^3)

λ = 545.45 m

The wavelength for 1600 kHz signal is

\lambda = (3.00 * 10^8)/(1600* 10^3)

λ = 187.5 m

The wavelength for 88 MHz signal is

\lambda = (3.00 * 10^8)/(88* 10^6)

λ = 3.41 m

The wavelength for 108 MHz signal is

\lambda = (3.00 * 10^8)/(108* 10^6)

λ = 2.78 m
