Answer:

8 (x-5) = 8x + 40

8x -40 = 8x + 40

80 = ??

There are NO solutions

8x+40 = 8(x-5)
8x+40 = 8x-40
-8x -8x
40 ≠ -40
therefore matt was correct since 40 isnt equal to -40
