What design feature makes a hip roof more resistant to wind damage than a gable-style roof?

Answer: i hope this helps you but but the hip-roof is at a better angle than the gable-roof style this one is alot more steeper than the other one but all roof's have effects on the roof.

Explanation:

I think that a hip roof is better than a gable-roof because it doesn't take as much damage from the winds. Gable-roof's have more of a chance of getting alot more damage than a hip-roof. Unless snow storm's

get involved than both are at risk's the hip-roof has channe's of snow pilling up on the roof causeing pressure on the roof. Gable has the chance's of the strong wind doing other sorts of little damages snow really doesn't pile on these types of roofs.
