Let's say (5,-1) is
(x_2,y_2) and (-4,3) is
(x_1,y_1)

Let's substitute the slope formula.


(-1-3)/(5-(-4)) =(-4)/(5+4) =(-4)/(9)=
-(4)/(9)

The slope is
-(4)/(9)
