The volume of a right cylinder is 155.4 ft. 3 The radius is 3 ft. Determine the height of the cylinder.

Sorry for all of the math questions. I am terrible at math and no matter how many times it gets explained, I never seem to understand completely.

ANSWER:

The height of the cylinder is 6 ft approximately.

SOLUTION:

Given, the volume of a right cylinder is 155.4
\mathrm{ft}^(3)

And, radius of the cylinder is 3 ft.

We need to find the height of cylinder.

We know that, volume of the cylinder = area of cross section
* height

Here, cross section is circular. Hence we can rewrite above formula as,

volume = area of circle
* height

\begin{array}{l}{\text { Volume }=\pi *(\text { radius })^(2) * \text { height }} \\ {155.4=\pi * 3^(2) * \text { height }}\end{array}

\begin{array}{l}{\text { Height }=(155.4)/(9 * \pi)} \\\\ {=(155.4)/(28.27)=5.94}\end{array}

Hence, the height of the cylinder is 6 ft approximately.
