So you will first do 0.05 x 10= 0.50 then you do $3.50 x 10= $35.00
Then $35.00 - 0.50= $34.50

$3.50 per gallon, 3.50 x 10 = 35.00$
$0.05 less per gallon so 0.05 x 10 = 0.50$
$35.00 - 0.50$ = $34.50
So you save 0.50$
