ANSWER:

If two points on line l above have coordinates (0, A) and (2, −3), then the value of A is -1

SOLUTION:

Given, two points on line l have coordinates (0, A) and (2, −3),

And the slope of the line is A,

We need to find a value.

We know that, slope of a line on which (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) are two points is given by

\mathrm{m}=\frac{y_(2)-y_(1)}{\mathrm{x}_(2)-\mathrm{x}_(1)}

Here,in our problem,

\mathrm{m}=\mathrm{A}, \mathrm{x}_(2)=2, \mathrm{x}_(1)=0, \mathrm{y}_(2)=-3 \text { and } \mathrm{y}_(1)=\mathrm{A}

now, substitute the values in formula we get

\begin{array}{l}{A=(-3-A)/(2-0)} \\\\ {A=(-3-A)/(2)}\end{array}

2A = -3 –A

2A+ A = -3

3A = -3

A = -1

Hence, the value of A is -1.
